Inspired by Business

Ever since I was a little girl business has always been a part of my life. When I was eight years old, I created a PowerPoint presentation to sell my parents on the Christmas gifts I wanted. I had pictures of each item, their full name and a link to provide easy access for purchase. When I was ten years old, I overheard my parents talking about a PR firm hired to name my dad's company. Just like that, challenge accepted. I grabbed a notebook and sketched my own name and logo ideas and converted these ideas into a PowerPoint. I pitched them to my family in an American Idol style setup. Much to my surprise, they ultimately selected one of my ideas. At ten, I named Global Atlantic Financial Group. Business has always been something that caught my attention and it continued to grow as I grew too.

The Idea

As I started taking business classes in high school, I was amazed at how diverse business can be: marketing, accounting, human resources, etc. The possibilities were limitless, but overwhelming. As college and majors started to become part of my reality, it suddenly hit me: Business is what I want to do,  but what exactly in business? This was the inspiration for Girls4Business. I wanted to explore and share all of the opportunities available to girls in the field of business. There are so many different career tracks and I hope to help as many people as possible find their right passion.

Spreading Passion

With the launch of my club, I have been able to share so much information with my club members and I have been able to expose them to women in business who have made their business dreams a reality. Although this club has been a great way for me to further my interest in business, I have also explored my passion in other ways. I participate in DECA, a competitive business club where I serve as a officer of my high school's chapter. I also work as a sales liaison in a store featuring up and coming entrepreneurs called TownPool. Opportunities in business are endless and I am so excited to continue G4B, sharing my passion and learning more!
